HELPING HANDS HEALTH EDUCATION

PROGRAM

A typical duration of volunteering in Vietnam is for 4 weeks. Volunteers will do the clinical work for 3 weeks and, tour and travel for one week. If he or she doesn't want to do tour and travel, then they are welcome to do the clinical work for one week as well.

Job Description

Person/s volunteering in following category will be responsible for:

Medical Doctor

• Work with medical doctors, nurses and medical students

• Visit clinic/s in the villages

Nurse

• assisting MD with procedures

• assisting nurse manager with family planning

• administering and providing meds to patients

• assessing and provide wound care

• assisting with other clinic projects

• assisting in organization at the clinic

• putting general emphasis on family planning, immunizations, and wound care

Medical Student

• assisting MD with diagnoses and treatment of patients

• seeing patients consulting with MD on diagnosis/treatment, depending upon volume of patients,

• assisting with general clinic duties such as: administering/providing medications, dressing changes, and assisting with minor operations

• assisting with organization in the clinic works.
