 PROGRAM COST

The cost of each program varies according to its requirements.

Teacher Volunteer Program

Listed below is the program cost for the year 2006

• For long term volunteers        US $ 5,500.00

• For short term volunteers       US $ 3,999.00 

• For an extended stay for short term volunteers it is US $ 275.00 up to a month.

Cost includes round trip airfare from Los Angeles, USA to Kathmandu, Nepal, en route hotel stay, visa charges, visa extension charges, food and accommodation in Nepal, work related domestic transportation and communication in Nepal and the trek.

The cost does not include airport taxes, tips and any other personal expenses.

There is a monthly stipend of NRs.5,000.00 for long-term volunteers.

Educator's Trip To Nepal

For year 2006 the total cost of the program is 3,000.00. This cost includes roundtrip airfare from Los Angeles to Kathmandu, en route hotel stay in Bangkok during layovers, food and accommodation in Nepal, any program related excursions, treks and tours. This cost however, does not include airport taxes, tips and any other personal expenses.

Deposit of US $500 (U.S. dollar Five Hundred) check made payable to: Helping Hands Health Education, and mailed to: 948 Pearl St., Boulder, CO 80302 "Attn: Educators Trip". This is the deposit that secures your space for the trip and is credited towards the total payment of the trip.

Send current U.S. Passport to Helping Hands by May 10th along with the remaining balance of the total payment. The total payment of the program is US $3,000.00. Thus, you will have to enclose US $ 2,500.00 along with your passport and visa application.

Additional costs not included in the program are:  Thailand airport taxes ($24), Nepal Visa ($40), Nepal airport fees (US$15), Round-trip airfare from Denver to Los Angeles (approximately $500), Optional flights to/from Pokhara (US $100) instead of bus rides.
