INTRODUCTION   

Helping Hands Education Project is initiated in Nepal to provide opportunities for non-medical volunteers to involve themselves in various educational projects. This project focuses on on imparting better education to the children of Nepal.

The first phase of this program has begun with the establishment of Surya Boarding School in the village of Khandbari. This school was established by the Founder and President of Helping Hands Health Education, Mr. Narayan Shrestha, in the village of Khandbari. This school holds the main objectives of providing the children with better opportunities and exposure to the world. This school also provides various extra curricular programs for students where in our volunteers involve themselves in introducing better and innovative programs.

The school began with 2 rooms rented in a house; with 2 teachers and 35 students. At present, it boasts a total of 450 students and 32 teachers and provides classes for children up to 10^th grade. The venture, which started with 2 rooms, now has 100 acres of land and also has five buildings with science labs and a library – though this library needs lot more assistance.

Surya Boarding is a sister-school of Superior Elementary School of Superior, Colorado, USA.
